Seven Card Stud/Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo

Talk about a game made for RealPokerOdds™! With over half of each player's cards available, not only do you get a sense of what they have, but you have that much more information to determine your true draw potential.

In Seven Card Stud, each player gets 3 cards down, and 4 cards up. This game is right in the wheelhouse of RealPokerOdds™. Every card that is visible is one less card in the deck that could help or hurt you. With less cards to draw from, doing percentages in your head is tediously slow. For RealPokerOdds™, however, it is actually a boon. The fewer cards to draw from, it is not unheard of to have straight and flush draws with a greater than 50% chance of success!

And if you are playing online, then RealPokerOdds™ with GameMirror™ is a must have. Internet games typically move quickly, faster than you can possibly consider what cards (and draws) other players have. With GameMirror™, the odds are calculated for you, in an instant. Also, GameMirror™ is almost always fast enough to catch opponent's cards before they fold, if they are before you in the betting order.

Stud & GameMirror™

The following example is a dramatization based on an experience one of our users had. After fifth street, the player had 2 pair, but he was facing a possible Straight and a possible Flush, as shown in the image on the right. It was a limit game, and the two opponents had both bet. The player had to decide whether to continue playing.

In all likelihood, the 2 pair would not stand up. However, with no 9's or 8's showing, the possibility of a Full House (or even Four of a Kind!) was still out there. The difficulty would be in figuring out the chances in the limited time he had to play. While this would be a sticky problem for most players, with RealPokerOdds™, the answer was crystal clear.

Because the player was using RealPokerOdds™ and the GameMirror™ feature, his chances were instantly available. The Breakdown window (shown below) reported a chance of getting a Full House (or better) at 24.5%. Since there was already a good sum in the pot, and all he had to do was match the other players, his Pot Odds were heavily in favor of continuing to play. Sure enough, he pulled an 8 on the last card, and won the pot!

I didn't believe the numbers until I saw how many different ways there were to get a Flush.
