Omaha is a game that is similar to Texas Hold'em, with 2 major differences:
- Instead of two cards in your hand, you are dealt 4 cards.
- When you make a hand, you MUST use 2 cards from your hand, and 3 from the board, no exceptions. For example, if you have the Ace of Hearts in your hand, but no other hearts, and there are 5 hearts on the board, you do NOT have a Flush.
Because people have 4 cards in their hands, they typically play more hands than they should. This is especially true when playing Hi-Lo, where the Lowest hand that qualifies wins half the pot. The pots in Omaha are typically much higher than in Texas Hold'em, since more people
play their hands. Once the pots become extremely large, the game deteriorates into a statistical study, which is why the Wager Calculator is such a valuable tool in Omaha.
